Richards Stable, Donna Sullivan and Judy Leonard’s Rays Big Bubba set a new track record at Harrington Raceway thanks to his 1:51.4 triumph in a $13,000 conditioned pace

on Monday.

The son of Badlands Hanover, in rein to Ross Wolfenden, chopped out panels of :27.2, :56 and 1:23.4 before stepping home in a :28-second clip to seal the win by two lengths. Jennaration was second best and Cadence N rounded out the top three.

Scott Gregoire trains Rays Big Bubba, who was making his first start of the season after putting together a 9-for-21 campaign in 2009. The victory put’s the pacer’s bankroll over $249,000.

In the featured $20,000 Open Pace, Elizabeth Brittingham’s Art Gram earned his fourth win in the last five starts with a 1:53.2 victory. The six-year-old Dictionary gelding and driver Bret Brittingham won in wire-to-wire fashion over Dontloseyourdayjob and Harlingen Hanover.

Donald Brittingham conditions the pacer, who won for the fourth time this season and for the 14th time in his career. The $10,000 payday boosted his overall earnings to $144,919.
