Horse Ownership Off Bucket List
72-year-old Richard (Mac) MacDonald of Nichols, New York, can scratch one more item off his “bucket list” thanks to his recent purchase of the eight-year-old pacing mare
Lovely Magic.
An article on thedailyreview.com profiles MacDonald and his one of many lifetime endeavours, owning a standardbred race horse.
MacDonald purchased Lovely Magic, a winner of $124,676, at the end of March this year. The Cams Magic Trick-Lovely American mare, who finished fourth qualifying in 2:01.2 on Friday at Tioga Downs, will remain in the care of trainer Jim Perry as she begins her 2010 campaign for MacDonald at Tioga, which will hold its first live card of the harness racing season on Saturday, May 1 with a post time of 6:50 p.m.
"I always liked the horses," said MacDonald. "With this horse, I can say I did it."
