Not Going Down Without Fight In NH

New Hampshire Governor John Lynch has publicly stated that if the state House passes a Senate bill regarding expanded gaming that he will veto it

. If you think such a stance would slow pro gaming expansion efforts in the state you would be very wrong.

A report on wmur.com, which also has a brief video piece on the issue, states that supporters of gaming expansion in the state are in the midst of creating an alternative bill.

The article states that the new bill will look to allow six gaming facilities, including slots for the tracks at Rockingham and Seabrook. Other gaming locations within the new legislation would be a resort-style gaming facility in Hudson, and another would be built in the North Country. A fifth and final license would be put out for bid between Belmont, the speedway in Loudon and other locations that choose to compete.

The bill would pave the way for 10,000 gaming machines in the state and would bring in $130 million in licensing fees alone.
