Slots Cup Series Starts Tonight
Doug And Dude will attempt to extend his winning streak to three in the first of three $12,000 Slots Cup Series first leg divisions tonight at Western Fair Raceway

Undefeated in two starts so far this year, both at the London, Ont. half-miler, Doug And Dude has drawn Post 4 in the first division (Race 2)with Ryan Holliday down to drive. Ken Houston of Harriston, Ont. bred, trains and co-owns the four-year-old son of Goliath Bayama with Richard McGlynn of Mount Forest, Ont.
The second division (Race 8) has another horse riding a winning streak in Lookin For A Fight, who has won his last three races for trainer Tammey McEneny and owner/breeder the VMB Stable of Hamilton, Ont. Paul MacKenzie will drive the four-year-old gelding by Cammibest from Post 2.
The third division (Race 9) finds the three-year-old Camluck son Nineteenfiftysix up against six four-year-olds. Trained by Rob Fellows, who co-owns with Arpad Szabo, the sophomore won his most recent start at Woodbine in 1:54.4.
The Slots Cup Series is an initiative of Racetracks of Ontario Marketing and Promotions (ROMP) and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. It is for Ontario-sired pacers, aged four and under, which were non-winners of $75,000 lifetime as of January 15 this year.
Seven different racetracks will host the series with the schedule as follows:
Leg 1: April 16 – Western Fair Raceway
Leg 2: May 2 – Clinton Raceway
Leg 3: May 29 – Hanover Raceway
Leg 4: July 3 – Flamboro Downs
Leg 5: July 23 – Grand River Raceway
Leg 6: August 14 – Georgian Downs
FINAL: September 11 – Hiawatha Horse Park ($100,000 guaranteed purse).
