Lolique Wins Top Trot; Green Takes Title
Lolique made his seasonal debut a winning one in the last $31,000 Open Handicap Trot of the Dover Downs meet on its penultimate program of the 2009-2010 season
on Wednesday.
John Wagner driving Lolique battled Impel Hanover (Jim King) from the three-quarters until mid stretch before pulling away for a 1:54.3 victory in the $31,000 feature trot. Mac Atack Mac continued to impress after advancing from the upper claiming ranks to the top trot class.
Vic Kirby drove the gelding to a second-place finish with Impel Hanover third. Pam Wagner and Scott Woogen owned Lolique, an altered son of Tagliabue-Crystal Vic, a lifetime winner of 32 races and $710,015.
In other Wednesday action, Al Ibad Spider’s 1:54.2 victory in Race 13 earned Josh Green his fifth consecutive training title at the track. It was his 68th win of the meet - two more than runner-up Dylan Davis' 66.
