Hudon’s Troops Triple Up

On the final day of the regular season of the NHL, it was only fitting to see Gerry Hudon notch a natural hat trick of his own at Northlands Park

.

Hudon, who leads all trainers and drivers at the Edmonton, Alberta oval, dominated the middle portion of Sunday’s program to add to his already impressive totals.

Shes A Jewel got the ball rolling for Hudon thanks to her 1:56.2 victory in Race 6. Sent off as the 1/2 favourite, the daughter of Allamerican Ingot won by a little more than a length for Alberta partners Monica Hudon and Lynn Kowalevsky.

Mr Brightside made it back-to-back scores for the partnership of Hudon and Kowalevsky along with trainer/driver Hudon. The six-year-old son of Allamerican Ingot, who was let go at odds of 9-1, got up to win Race 7 by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.2.

Hudon completed the training/driving triple with Pay The Bettor, a mare he owns with partners Bill Boden and Orest Hutculiak. The five-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight came first over and won Race 9 by a pair of lengths in 1:57.2.

He has sent out 1,661 winners over the course of his career while banking more than $10.6 million along the way.
