MacDonald Grabs Five More At Rideau

Rideau Carleton Raceway treated its fans to a 15-race program on Thursday, and driver John MacDonald treated his fans to a five-win performance

.

The Russell, Ontario reinsman started the night leading all Rideau pilots with 53 wins, and that number ballooned to 58 by the time the he crossed the line in Race 15.

MacDonald got in the win column in Race 2 with the Sebastien Giroux-trained Celebrity Godiva (1:59.1). He came right back to take Race 3 with the Matthew MacDonald-trained Hero In America (1:56.1) before returning to take the checkered flag with Casimir Jocko (1:58.1) in Race 9.

O U Legacy (1:59.4) had no problem capturing Race 11, and in doing so he gave MacDonald the Grand Slam. He also prevailed in Race 15 with Pollards Brook (1:58.4) to complete the five-win night at the office.

MacDonald enjoyed a career-year in 2009 thanks to 411 wins and more than $1.9 million in purse money. He has already picked up 61 wins and purses in excess of $334,000 this year.
