Grand River Crowns Handicappers

Grand River Raceway hosted the finals of its popular $5,000 Winter Wednesdays Handicapping Tournament on March 31. The Elora, ON track hosted 100 finalists competing for $3,000 in cash prizes.

Jack Kearney of Scarborough, ON emerged the runaway winner after cashing a 40-1 longshot with a six-year-old maiden at Penn National.

The top finishers are as follows:

1 – Jack Kearney – Bankroll - $150.40 - wins $1500

2 – Jim McMahon – Bankroll - $75.00 - wins $750

3 – Zbyslaw Michlak – Bankroll - $66.20 - wins $360

4 – Ron Corbeil – Bankroll - $60.20 - wins $240

5 – (TIE) Winnie Buchan – Bankroll - $58.80 - wins $150

5 – (TIE) John Perron – Bankroll - $58.80 - wins $150
