DSBF Prelims Open With A Bang
Briteoliver, a 95-1 shot, lit up the toteboard in one of six $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) Three-Year-Old Filly events - four paces and two trots – on Wednesday at Dover Downs
Briteolive put on a late race burst to overtake the battling leaders en route to capturing the first $20,000 DSBF Filly pace in a career-best 1:54.4. Iosmio was second best and race favourite Model Legs finished third. The daughter of Three Olives-Brite Outlook paid $193.80 for a $2 win ticket. Trainer Eddie Dennis was in the bike for owner Clarence Staats.
Montrell Teague steered No Bad Luck to a career-best 1:54.2 score in another DSBF division for the pacing fillies. The Badlands Hanover-Gee Im Lucky miss, who won for the second time this season, is owned by Badlands Racing and trainer George Teague, Jr. Sucha Bad Girl was second with Jus Let It Go third.
Lets Get Fizzical roared down the passing lane for driver Ross Wolfenden to nip front pacing Naughty Indeed to win her $20,000 division in 1:56.4. Owned by Bill Steinbacher and trained by Ron Millman, Lets Get Fizzical is a daughter of Misfit-Legacy and now is unbeaten in two 2010 races.
Golden Secret made her racing debut a winning one as Brandon Givens guided the CR Commando-Golden Express filly to a 2:01.1 triumph in the first DSBF trotting test. Winbak Farm owns the Les Givens-conditioned filly. Status Symbol won the battle for second with What Would You Do finishing third and completing the sweep for sire CR Commando.
Nanticoke Racing's Miss Snazz took the lead early and was never headed in 1:58.1 in her DSBF division. Jim Morand left fast with the Loge-Miss Oak Grove Star lass, who broke her maiden by defeating Punks Embrace and Political Jewell. Les Givens trains the filly, who was let go at odds of 11-1.
