.
An article by observer-reporter.com states that the PGCB will vote on the Meadows' application for the table gaming within 30 days.
The article indicates that the Meadows applied for 68 table games this past February.
According to the report, Mike Jeannot, the Meadows' vice president of racing, said the presence of the casino and its contribution to purses at the racetrack have seen the track's handle, or amount wagered, increase 36 per cent this year over the previous year and sales over the simulcast television network rise 10 per cent from last year.
"The quality of racing here has gone up astronomically," Jeannot said, adding that an upcoming project, the addition of six new barns for about 350 horses, as well as renovations for other stalls will enable the track to have stalls for a total of 850 horses.
