.

Leaving from the pylons, Beach Boy Toy (David Hudon) left Post 7 starter Lil Dude Starrbuck (Scott Knight) stranded through stations of :27.1 and :55.2. Down the backstretch, Sibiga rolled Cash Account out from sixth and made a three-wide move around the parked out Lil Dude Starrbuck. He looked the leader in the eye at the 1:23.3 third quarter mark before surging ahead down the lane to score 1:52.2, lowering his previous mark taken on January 15 by a full second. Beach Boy Toy finished a length behind and Western Nitro (Jim Marino) was third.

The winning seven-year-old son of D M Dilinger-Twice Royal returned $26.40 to his backers as the 12-1 sixth choice in the field of eight. Heather Sifert trains Cash Account, a winner of two races in 12 starts and $28,725 this year, for owner Calvin Nyuli of Abbotsford, B.C.
