Mossbarger Feted In Ohio
The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association has awarded Dr. John Mossbarger the Association’s Maynard and Stella Hagemeyer Significant Contribution Award for 2021.
Dr. Mossbarger, who lives in Bloomingburg, Ohio with his wife, Kyle, is the president of Midland Acres, a family-owned breeding farm. He joined the OHHA Board of Directors in 1984 and served as the Association’s president for six years, from 1998-2003.
As a past president, Mossbarger serves on the Advisory Committee for the OHHA and is the Association’s legislative Political Action Committee Chairman. In addition, he is a member of the United States Trotting Association Board of Directors serving for District 1.
A graduate of the Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Mossbarger serves on a variety of boards including the Hambletonian Society, Inc., Ohio Farm Bureau, Fayette County Farm Bureau, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses. He is also a past president of the Ohio Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association.
Dr. Mossbarger is being recognized for his professional contributions to Ohio’s Standardbred breeding program as well as his involvement with the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and United States Trotting Association.
The Maynard and Stella Hagemeyer Significant Contribution Award is awarded to an individual that has made a significant life-long contribution to Ohio harness racing. The individual must possess a passion and advocacy for Ohio harness racing. The award is based on the importance of educating and involving local and state legislators to the importance of the harness racing industry.
Dr. Mossbarger will be honoured at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association Annual Awards Banquet January 15, 2022, at the Hilton Columbus-Polaris in Columbus, Ohio.
