Millies Million Mighty In London
Millies Million ($10.00) went the distance on a snowy Wednesday night (Jan. 12) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District, powering to the top early and never looking back in the featured $12,000 Preferred 2-3 Handicap for pacing mares.
Owner-driver Travis Cullen wasted no time with Millies Million, splitting fellow leavers Randomirogeo and So Frisky through the first turn and pushing clear of Randomirogeo — who protected the pocket from the pole — through a :27.3 first quarter. Once in control, Cullen rated Millies Million through soft middle splits of :57.4 and 1:26.2 and evaded a first-over challenge from So Frisky through the far turn.
Cornering for home, Millies Million faced a second push from pocket rival Randomirogeo, who angled off the pegs in upper stretch. Still, the four-year-old daughter of Armbro Baylor prevailed, driven out through the last sixteenth of her victorious 1:56.2 mile to prevail by a length. Randomirogeo held second over So Frisky, who levelled off.
Jodie Cullen trains Millies Million, an 11-time winner with $56,406 in career earnings.
