Kentucky Stakes Conditions Announced
With the 2022 Kentucky racing season approaching, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission released race conditions for all 2022 programs.
“The expanded program announcements made last fall around the yearling sales continue to be the talk within the industry," said Bob Brady, president of Kentucky Harness Association. "A lot of hard work has been put into growing the Kentucky circuit and it’s exciting to see the growth and what is ahead of us in 2022.”
The highlights of the program include:
Championship Series (for two-year-olds and three-year-olds)
• Four legs ($80,000 each)
• $400,000 finals
Commonwealth Series (for two-year-olds and three-year-olds)
• Four legs ($30,000 each)
• $100,000 finals
Kentucky Proud Series
• $50,000 finals
• Purses increased based on entries ($1,500/entry, trailer bonus eliminated)
• New fair for Hopkinsville (raced at Oak Grove)
New programs:
Oak Grove Early Sires Stakes Program (for two-year-old and three-year-old Kentucky-breds)
• Two legs ($25,000 each)
• $100,000 finals
• $50,000 consolation
Oak Grove Four-Year-Old Series (all divisions)
• Four legs ($50,000 each)
• $150,000 final
Golden Rod Series
• Four legs ($15,000 each)
• $50,000 finals
Early Closers at ECL Corbin (for two-year-olds and three-year-olds)
• One leg ($30,000 each)
• $70,000 finals
Maturity Series at ECL Corbin (for four-year-olds)
• One leg ($35,000 each)
• $70,000 finals
