Standardbreds Forever Returns
For the first time ever, Standardbreds Forever day at Northlands Park will honour a mare
.
Disagreement - the 2004 Horse of the Year in Alberta - will be the feature pacer on April 3, as Standardbreds Forever day reaches its third year in Edmonton.
"We're carrying on the tradition - and I am very excited to be honouring a mare this year," Orianna Scheck, the co-producer of the event with Northlands Park, told thehorses.com. "It's really getting to be a popular day.
"More people have offered to be sponsors and I'm seeing different sponsors." This year's event features three new major sponsors: Meridian Farms, ASHA and Independent Jewellers.
There will be several draws for prizes and activities based on a “Ladies” day. Roses will be given to the first 120 ladies that come over to the outside paddock to meet DisagreementOne, and one lucky patron will win a 2ct Diamond Tennis Bracelet valued at $2,000 sponsored by Independent Jewellers. There will also be framed pictures of Disagreement, Eternal Camnation, As Promised, Tajma Hall and Rainbow Blue.
Some of the other prizes include:
• a trip for 2 to Las Vegas
• Gerry Hudon Driving suit with picture
• Reebok Bag with Stormtech jacket
• Ladies Ariat leather belt with Horse Gift Box (surprise in box)
• 4 Oilers vs Avalance NHL tickets
