Dover Downs’ Wednesday morning qualifying session was dominated by George Teague, Jr. pupils, including

some familiar faces from last year. Teamed with George’s son Montrell, millionaire pacer Mr Wiggles, Chasin Racin and Zee Barber won their second consecutive qualifiers of the season by a combined 22-1/2 lengths.

After winning his first qualifier on March 10 by 10 lengths in 1:55.3, Mr Wiggles turned in a 1:54.1 winning effort this time around. The four-year-old son of Badlands Hanover-Wiggle Hanover led the field through panels of :29.1, :58.3 and 1:26.3 before expanding his lead to six and a half lengths with a :27.3 final quarter. Mr Wiggles, who captured the 2009 Hoosier Cup and was a runner-up in the Adios and Breeders Crown, picked up checks in 21 of his 23 starts last year earning over $1 million dollars for Elmer Fannin of Lincoln and George Teague Jr. Inc. of Harrington, Delaware.

Hoosier Cup and Battle of the Brandywine runner-up Chasin Racin left from Post 7 and worked up a 12 length lead as he carved out panels of :28, :56, 1:24.2 and 1:52.3. Owned by Fannin and Teague, the four-year-old son of The Panderosa-Contrapan earned nearly $500,000 during his stakes-filled sophomore season with a record of 5-4-3 in 21 starts.

Zee Barber also went the distance for the Teague duo, clicking off fractions of :28.4, :58.2, 1:27.3 en route to a four length score in 1:55.3. The four-year-old son of Badlands Hanover-Scissor Magic put together a record of 6-5-6 in 22 starts and banked over $134,000 last season for owners Gary and Barbara Iles of Harrington, Delaware.

Built To Drive, a four-year-old Dragon Again son, also turned in dominant front-end score for Teague and co-owner K And R Racing LLC of Houston, Delaware, winning his first 2010 outing in 1:56.3 by 10 lengths.

The Kentuckian, a lightly raced four-year-old Windsong Legacys trotter, captured his second consecutive qualifier of the season in 1:58.3, as did Jet Set, a four-year-old Broadway Hall trotter, in 2:01.3.

Teague’s unraced three-year-old Badlands Hanover filly, No Bad Luck, made her move after the half and advanced to the lead from third before kicking away from the field by over nine lengths to score in 1:56.4.
