Norwegian Negotiations For Beads
Reports from Norway indicate that four-year-old trotter Beads, winner of the 2021 Hambletonian Maturity, could be headed overseas.
According to a TGN Norway article, Larvik, Norway-based trainer Frode Hamre has stated a sale is pending for the son of Archangel to Norwegian owners.
Beads is currently owned by Buckstone Land Livestock of York, Pennsylvania. An 11-time winner from 37 starts, he took a mark of 1:50.2 at The Meadowlands and earned the bulk of his $650,346 bankroll in the care of Per Engblom.
"I have worked for Per Engblom and know Beads very well," agent Thomas Svensen, who has reportedly been central to the deal, was quoted as saying via a translation. "He is a real star that is big and strong and certainly fits in Scandinavia. I do not know who will buy, but the horse is very good."
Among his victories, Beads won the Kentucky Sires Stakes Championship as a sophomore and two legs of the Graduate Series this year. After winning the Hambletonian Maturity on July 17, he missed by just a nose in the John Cashman.
