Karma Seelster Tops Yonkers Distaffers
Since getting her passport in order and heading stateside, Ontario Sires Stakes graduate Karma Seelster has been unbeatable.
She rallied to a 1:50 win in a high-end conditioned event when she surfaced at the Meadowlands on November 19, and in Thursday’s follow-up performance at Yonkers Raceway she was just as impressive in beating that track’s leading ladies.
Karma Seelster, who was sent off as the 1-9 favourite in the $43,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace, quarter pole-moved to the top after Edge Of Eternity supplied the field with an opening panel clocked in :27.1.
Jordan Stratton brushed to the top with Karma Seelster and together they wheeled the field through middle splits of :56.2 and 1:25. She brushed home in :29.1 to win by 4-3/4 lengths over Edge Of Eternity in 1:54.1. Rounding out the bottom of the Trifecta ticket was Golden Quest N.
Andrew Adamczyk trains the four-year-old daughter of Sportswriter-Kiddie Cocktail for owner Karen Hauver of Durham, ON. The 11-time winner, who has manufactured a 4-2-4 record from 17 trips to the track this season, pushed her lifetime earnings over $700,000 with the victory.
