'Zenfire' Looks To Topple The Girls
The Marc Campbell stable is out in full force in the featured Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 27) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Red Shores will present 11 dashes on Saturday afternoon starting at 12:30 p.m., with the top mares vying for a $3,100 purse in race 10.
Dreamfair Zenfire faced the boys her last two starts, but returns to face off against her peers in the featured pace with Campbell driving his trainee for owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod. The Atlantic record-holding mare has 14 wins on the year from 22 starts, including her scorching 1:52.3 CDP track record. Arc Light (Mark Bradley), also from the Campbell barn, starts from post 2, while stablemate Filly Forty Seven (Jason Hughes) drew post 5.
Ms Moyse (Adam Merner) has put together a solid season and will leave from post 4, while The Time To Win (Ken Murphy) has rail control and Better Be In Love (Dale Spence) leaves from post 6.
Peter MacPhee likes Dreamfair Zenfire to get it all in the Post Time Picks:
“Dreamfair Zenfire has had a fantastic season and when you look at her stats those 14 wins jump off the page. She also has terrific gate speed and there’s a good chance Marc fires to the front and they go right down the highway.”
Atlantic Champion Daisy River has rail control in the $2,700 Open Trot, carded as race eight, for regular pilot Jason Hughes and owner-trainer William Lanigan. The Nikes Image six-year-old has only missed hitting the tote board in two starts out of 22 all season. Osprey Delta (Walter Cheverie) is the morning line favourite from post 4 while Freddie (Campbell) begins from post 5.
