Time To Dance Rolls To Preferred Victory
Time To Dance landed in a familiar spot on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 21) as he visited the winner’s circle after taking the Preferred Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The son of A Rocknroll Dance was sent to the lead in the $3,400 featured pace by trainer/driver Marc Campbell and led through splits of :27.3, :57.2 and 1:27.1 before closing out the mile in 1:55 by more than two lengths. Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) was second while Bugsy Maguire (Dale Spence) finished third. Brent Campbell of Charlottetown shares ownership of Time To Dance with Matt McDonald of Edwards, Ont.
Osprey Delta was the boss in the $2,700 Open Trot, winning in 2:00.2 off the front for driver Walter Cheverie and owner/trainer Paul Larrabee. It was win number 10 of the Tad The Stud six-year-old’s career. Freddie (Campbell) had to settle for second with Daisy River (Jason Hughes) third.
Gilles Barrieau had a pair of winners from his barn on the day as Rollin Doubles (Adam Merner) opened up the card with a 2:00.4 maiden-breaking score and The Rev (Spence) closed out the day in 1:56.3 for win number 48 lifetime.
The Jennifer Doyle barn was hot as Chocolate Swirl (Merner) delivered as the favourite in 1:55.3 and newcomer My Land (Hughes) overcame post eight for a 1:57.2 victory in his Island debut.
Live racing continues this coming weekend (November 27-28) with 12:30 p.m. opening post times for the Saturday and Sunday afternoon cards.
Total wager was $49,196.

It's a shame that Time To
It's a shame that Time To Dance's only bad race of the year came in his most important race of the year, the $60,000 Gold Cup and Saucer, when he was saddled with the 8-post.
