Sustained pressure into a :27.3 third quarter was no trouble for Robert Hamather's Captainofrocknroll ($6.10), who dismissed the challenge of Ideal Perception and edged to a two-length win in Wednesday's (Nov. 10) featured $13,000 Preferred 2 Pace at Flamboro Downs.

The three-year-old Captaintreacherous gelding won for the second time since returning to Canadian soil in September, working clear of 5-4 favourite Mikey Camden just beyond a :28 first quarter before rating a :57.2 half. Pressure mounted on Captainofrocknroll early in the second circuit, however, as Ideal Perception advanced out of third to engage the pacesetter up the backstretch. The two duelled around the final turn before Captainofrocknroll, under strong encouragement from Jonathan Drury, found another gear off the corner and shrugged Ideal Perception off for a 1:54.1 win. Just Dont Wait finished third.
