Meadows Feature To Something Reel
Parked every step, Something Reel nevertheless had enough gas and guts to hold off five late challengers and capture Tuesday’s (Oct. 12) feature at The Meadows, a $12,000 filly & mare conditioned pace.
Something Reel left from post eight but couldn’t make the early lead or find a seat for Dave Palone. When she turned for home, it appeared as if the five-year-old daughter of Westwardho Hanover-Im A Realist would be engulfed.
But she hung tough, edging Hillbilly Kisses by a head in 1:53.2, with All Day Sunshine third.
Brandon Presto trains Something Real, who now boasts a career bankroll of $180,208, for Larry Parlin.
Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and trainer Ron Burke each collected four wins on the 13-race card while Aaron Merriman and Palone each enjoyed a triple.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday when the 12-race program features a $30,120.35 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
