Meadows Hosts 'Pinkout' Friday
On Friday, Oct. 15, The Meadows and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) will stage their fifth annual “Pinkout” to benefit cancer awareness and research, and this year’s event will include an exciting new feature — corgi races.
While the MSOA has successfully conducted wiener dog races a number of times, this will be The Meadows debut for the popular Welsh breed. The event includes several divisions and a final, with the champion corgi winning $200 and a doggie basket from Poochtique & Spaw in Bentleyville.
A Chinese auction will raise money for the American Cancer Society. Other Pinkout activities include:
• A pet costume contest. Dress up your pet and register at the MSOA table by 5 p.m. and you could win $200;
• Family Fun Night on the apron with a face painter, a balloon artist and airbrush tattoos;
• Food trucks and live music from disc jockey A.J. Fresh.
Special fall/winter post time is 4 p.m.
