Flamboro Preferred To I Got The Looks
The Shepherd brothers joined forces to capture Thursday’s featured $13,000 Preferred 2 Trot at Flamboro Downs with I Got The Looks, who survived a first-over trip to win in going away fashion.
With Robert Shepherd at the lines, I Got The Looks got away fourth from Post 1 while Arrakis shot to the top from Post 6 and supplied the field with first-half fractions of :28.2 and :58.1.
I Got The Looks commenced his first-over bid on the way to the mid-way point, and he was on the lead while racing parked past the three-quarter pole in 1:27.1. The Patrick Shepherd trainee then used a :29.2 kicker to win by 3-1/4 lengths over Esquire in 1:56.3. Bastiano tagged along to grab the show dough in the eight-horse affair.
Sent off at odds of 4-1, the four-year-old son of E L Titan-Pretty Crafty nabbed his sixth win of the season and the 12th of his career. Triple S Equine of Newton, ON owns the career winner of $150,255.
