Preferred Score For Filly Forty Seven
It was all systems go for Filly Forty Seven in the Thursday evening feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Marc Campbell hustled his charge to the lead from post 4 as Filly Forty Seven tripped the opening quarter in :28.2 in the $2,400 Fillies and Mares preferred 3 pace. Filly Forty Seven continued her unchallenged lead through fractions of :56.4 and 1:26.2 then coasted to the wire in 1:55.3. Pacific Delight (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) closed hard to finish second with Elm Grove Mistress (Adam Merner) third. Darryl MacLean co-owns and trains the winning mare for co-owners Cory Carver, Katelyn Smallwood and Alan MacDonald.
Barrieau had the hot hands on the night with four driving winners including a 1:57.3 score for Wannashakeyourtree from his own barn. Barrieau and trainer Todd Walsh teamed up for a pair of wins on the evening with Top Of Her Trade winning in 1:56.2 and Better Than Men a 1:58.1 victor. Barrieau also won with Labero (2:00) in the $2,050 evening trot class from the Randy Van Meer stable.
