Cattlewash To Stand Stud In Ontario
Trot Insider has learned that world champion Cattlewash will stand stud in Ontario for the 2022 breeding season.
Tara Hills Stud is excited to announce the addition of World Champion & millionaire Cattlewash (p,2,1:50.2, 3, 1:46.4 ($1,177,787) to its stallion roster.
Cattlewash took his World Record three-year-old mark of 1:46.4 winning a division of the Bluegrass Stakes at The Red Mile, making him the co-fastest three-year-old. He shares this outstanding record with his game-changing sire, Somebeachsomewhere.
At age two, he won a $80,950 Bluegrass division in a freshman best of p,2,1:50.3 and was a multiple PASS winner. He finished second in the Matron Final and third in the Breeders Crown and Governor’s Cup finals while competing against the best of the year.
In addition to his World Record win at three, Cattlewash won the $179,600 Matron in 1:48,3, the $160,000 Monument Circle in 1:48.3s and captured his Breeders Crown elimination in 1:47.2. In the $500,000 Breeders Crown Final he finished third off only one-quarter of a length. Cattlewash also finished second in the Little Brown Jug - timed in 1:49.2h, from post seven.
This year at age four, while servicing a limited book of mares, Cattlewash captured the $250,000 Graduate Series Final in a season’s best of 1:47.1. He also captured the $265,400 William Haughton Memorial Final in 1:47.3.
Cattlewash boasts an impressive standing of 13-9-8 in 39 starts thus far, with trainer Ron Burke indicating that the horse will continue to race through to the end of the season with starts possible at The Red Mile and in the Breeders Crown.
Cattlewash is a handsome and smart son of super-sire Somebeachsomewhere from Road Bet p,4, 1:52f ($380,315) by Bettors Delight, making him the half-brother to 2021 $500,500 She’s A Great Lady Final winner Niki Hill p,2, 1:50.2s-’21 ($315,041). His dam is a sister to the winners of more than $3.6 million including $1.5 million winning Mypanmar, 1:48.3s.
