Heinikin Bythebay On A Roll
The win streak is now four in a row and counting for Heinkin Bythebay, who was impressive in his Monday assignment at Harrington Raceway.
KDK Standardbreds' Heinikin Bythebay ($2.60, Jason Thompson) won in 1:55.2 and headed a quartet of winners, three of which were sired by Southwind Lynx, in the second leg of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund $20,000 elimination action Monday at Harrington Raceway for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings.
The Kevin Switzer-trainee was a comfortable front end winner over Hiro Knockout and Clear Mist. The Southwind Lynx colt improved to 4-for-6 in his young career and will be one of the favourites in the October 4 $100,000 final.
Team Teague won two of the divisions, including Itspronounced Jif ($2.20, Montrell Teague) for owner George Teague and trainer Clyde Francis. The Southwind Lynx colt came out a nose ahead in a tight photo with runner-up Imwoncaptainwiser, while Callaland was third. Teague had five driving wins on the program.
George Teague and K&R Racing's Its Above Me Now ($3.60, Montrell Teague) prevailed in 1:57. Also a son of Southwind Lynx, he held off race favourite Ds Heartland for his second career win. Badlands N Wine was third. Its Above Me Now is also trained by Francis.
Eric Foster's Bad And Boujee ($4.20, Russell Foster) won the remaining division in 1:55.4. The Badlands Hanover gelding was a two-length winner over Johnny Badlands and Nipsey. Trained by his owner, Bad And Boujee earned his first career win after a second place finish in his elimination last week.
The top eight point earners will return for next week's DSBF final.
DSBF pacing fillies headline the Tuesday (September 28) program with trotters taking center stage Wednesday. Post time is 4:30 p.m. nightly.
