Kids' Lemonade Stand Supports OSAS
Horse lover Bella Stockwell has learned the gift of generosity at the tender age of five. This past weekend in Milton, Ont., she and her friend Logan, along with Logan’s brother Hudson, hosted a lemonade stand, the proceeds of which went to the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society (OSAS).
“We chose OSAS because Bella is a huge horse lover, like me," explained Bella’s mom Caren, who spent close to two decades working at Standardbred Canada. "She wanted to help horses find homes when they finish racing so they can live a happy, relaxing life.
“They made a little over $220 from donations and everyone who stopped liked the organization they selected,” added Caren, who also noted how expensive it is to keep horses and how every contribution helps.
Everyone involved with OSAS is very touched by the children’s selflessness and their love for horses and will be presenting them with some OSAS swag and a visit to some retired Standardbreds in the future.
