Kwik Talkin Kicks Home At Flamboro

The six-year-old Well Said stallion Kwik Talkin towered over the field late in the mile and motored to a 1-3/4 length victory in the $11,500 Horses & Geldings Preferred 2 Pace at Flamboro Downs on Tuesday (Sept. 7).

Pretty Handsome, the 7-5 favourite, took over the lead past a :27.1 first quarter and snagged a breather to a :57 half. With the tempo slowed, JKNR Liketell pulled and advanced first over to press the leader into the second circuit and stay alongside to three-quarters in 1:25.3.

JKNR Liketell started to falter heading to the final turn as driver Travis Henry vaulted Kwik Talkin to the center of the course and fired for the front. He edged ahead of Pretty Handsome off the corner and extended his lead to the finish, stopping the clock in 1:54.2 with Pretty Handsome holding second and First Class Horse closing for third.

Owned by Scott and Lisa Henry, Kwik Talkin won his fourth race from 10 starts this season and his 17th from 68 overall, earning $229,823. Amanda Fine trains the $5.70 winner.
