After Smart Shark (Connie Kolthammer) put up a :27.4 first quarter, Clark sent the parked out Armbro Dublin to the lead in front of the grandstand, but gave way to Kiawah (Gerry Hudon) at the :57 half.
Kiawah kicked away by two lengths en route to the 1:25 third quarter mark, but began to fade in the stretch as Armbro Dublin took aim and hit the bullseye in 1:54.4. The seven-year-old son of Cambest-Lilmisscantdowrong held off his co-favoured entrymate, Wrangler Hitech (Bill Tainsh, Jr.), who rallied off the cover of third-place finisher Neal Diamonique (Lance Ward).
Armbro Dublin, who won his two previous starts at Fraser Downs, is now three-for-seven so far this year with $20,940 banked for owner Robert Jones of Slave Lake, Alta. The bay gelding's 42nd lifetime score pushed his earnings to $482,052.
