Dream Maker To True Blue Lindy
True Blue Lindy became the latest horse to get the Dream Maker bump following a strong 1:51.2 victory in Monday’s series final at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
A launching pad for many previous stars, the Dream Maker Series for two-year-olds pacers saw a compact field of six clash in this year’s $86,500 final.
Trained by Carl Jamieson, True Blue Lindy and driver Jody Jamieson took full advantage of a two-hole ride to win in a career-best clocking of 1:51.2, holding off Tony Alagna trainees Nautical Hanover and Atlas Hanover.
“He’s done everything he’s been asked of, first and second every start now and a nice speed badge there to boot,” said Jody Jamieson post-race. “He was great tonight, he just did what he had to do like he always does. He’s lazy as hell, but he keeps doing it.”
Race-favourite Many Moons was used hard early to make the front, clearing True Blue Lindy at the opening-quarter in :26.4. The 1/5 favourite rolled the field to the half in :55.2 and down to three-quarters in 1:24.1.
Jamieson edged True Blue Lindy from the two-hole at the head of the lane and the 5/2 second-choice responded with a :27 kicker to secure the victory. Nautical Hanover finished strongly in :26.2 to come up three-quarters of a length short. Many Moons faded down the lane to finish fifth.
True Blue LindyTrue Blue Lindy was a $25,000 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale purchase that has now earned $69,500 for owners Carl Jamieson, William Loyens and Trevor Edwards. The gelded son of Always B Miki is now three for five in his young career and is eligible to all of Woodbine’s upcoming Grand Circuit events.
A $2 win ticket on True Blue Lindy returned $7.40.
