OSAS At The Races Underway

As part of the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society’s 25th anniversary celebrations this year, tracks across Ontario are hosting a special day to honour the milestone. The celebrations kicked off Sunday afternoon (Aug. 1) at both Clinton and Dresden Raceways.

Three-year-old filly Better Watch It was victorious in Dresden’s OSAS race, the first on the matinee card. The Hes Watching lass pulled trainer Greg Drew to a two-length score in 2:00.2 It was the first lifetime win and third career start for the filly, whom Drew also owns and bred.

Making the winner’s circle presentation on behalf of OSAS were dedicated volunteers Jean Posthuma, Avery Longstreet and Emma Christoforou. Emma is the daughter of OSAS’s administrator Joanne Colville and is also a newly licensed trainer who had two starters at Dresden. Avery is also a new trainer and scored her first lifetime win on the card with Flysantanna.
