Village Jamie Wires Them Up
Richard Simard put the pedal to the metal with Village Jamie in Thursday’s pacing feature at Rideau Carleton Raceway, and the public’s top choice kept on rolling en route to posting a narrow victory.
Village Jamie was parked while leading at the opening quarter in :28 and she proceeded to front-step her way through middle panels of :58.2 and 1:27.1. Simard called on her late and she responded by kicking home in :28.4 while holding off Reys N A Rocket by a head in a time of 1:56. Third prize went to Fancy Girl.
Mandy Archer trains the seven-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Village Jest for Jamie Copley and Mark Smith. The victory improved her 2021 record to 4-0-1 from 12 attempts and it pushed her lifetime earnings over $190,000.
