After enjoying strong stints at Tioga Downs and Yonkers Raceway, Kerford Road A made his seasonal debut at Saratoga Casino Hotel a winning one in Saturday night's (July 17) $14,000 Open Pace.

Shawn Gray moved the seven-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere to the early lead, and the pair cruised through soft fractions of :28 and :57. After cruising through a leisurely first half, Kerford Road A slammed the door on his rivals with matching :27.4 splits in the second circuit, defeating pocket rival Wyatt J (Billy Dobson) and American Zest A (Larry Stalbaum) in 1:52.3.

Patti Harmon trains Kerford Road A, who has won five times this season and hit the board in 13 of 20 starts, for John Campagnuolo, the Harmon Racing Stable and Winners Circle Racing.

Live racing at Saratoga resumes on Monday afternoon (July 19) at 12 noon.
