Mac Andover, Kazans Power Win At Tioga
Mac Andover and Kazans Power captured the co-features at Tioga Downs on Saturday (July 17).
Mac Andover got by late to win the $7,800 featured pace.
Mac Andover led to the first quarter in :27.1. American Chrome took the lead with a lap to go. He led to the half in :56.2. Harry Terror made the first move down the backstretch. American Chrome led to three-quarters in 1:24.4.
As they made the turn for home Mac Andover popped out of the pocket and the race was on. American Chrome dug in as Mac Andover came charging. Mac Andover just got by to win in 1:53.2. American Chrome had to settle for second. Just Dont Wait finished third.
Mac Andover is a seven-year-old gelding by McArdle. He is owned by Rick Howles and trained by John Hallett. It was his second win this season and 17th victory overall. John MacDonald drove the $8.50 winner.
Kazans Power breezed to win in the $7,800 featured trot.
Joey Pro led to the first quarter in :27.4. Itsonlymoneyhoney took control as they went by the stands for the first time. He led to the half in :58.3. As they headed down the backstretch Kazans Power came gunning for the lead and took over before hitting three-quarters in 1:26.2.
As they reached the stretch Kazans Power had another gear and left them all in his dust as he won easily in 1:56. Joey Pro came up to take second. Aquillo finished third.
Kazans Power is a four-year-old gelding by Cherry Hill Park. He is owned and trained by Edgar Clarke. It was his fourth win this season and 18th victory in his career. Braxten Boyd drove the $11.60 winner.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (July 18) featuring three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for two-year-old trotting colts & geldings. Post time for the 10-race card is 1:00 p.m. (EDT).
