Annual OHHA Awards Banquet Details
The Ontario Harness Horse Association is pleased to announce its eighth Annual Awards Night, which will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Guelph Place Banquet Hall in Guelph, Ontario
.
The cocktail reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with the awards and dinner to start at 6:30 p.m.
Dancing will top off the evening.
The trainers of the top money winning OSS horses of 2009 will be honoured as well as the top money earning Trillium winners.
Written nominations are required for the following awards in order to be taken into consideration, and all nominees must be current OHHA members.
Grooms Awards will be presented in recognition of their contribution to their stable.
The awards will be presented to the caretakers who treat their horses with love and care, regardless of the horse or its performance. The individual should be a dedicated, hard-working and dependable person, who is a full-time groom.
Sportsmanship Awards will be presented to individuals who meet the following criteria:
An individual who has a friendly, cheerful and caring disposition, who congratulates fellow participants on their success, and is modest about his/her own. This award is given to somebody who demonstrates first-class sportsmanship, both on and off the track or in the barn.
Outstanding Service to the Industry Award will be presented to an individual who stands out from the crowd; they continually go the extra mile and help others. The candidate doesn’t have to be in the limelight, but perhaps assists behind the scenes in a quiet manner.
If you know someone who deserves recognition, please write us a short letter explaining why he/she should be considered for one of these awards. The deadline for nominations is Friday March 5, 2010.
