Four In A Row For Wind Blown
After winning his first three starts of the season by a combined 23-1/2 lengths, Wind Blown ($3.40) kept his perfect 2021 record intact with yet another dominant win over the Truro Raceway oval on Sunday afternoon (July 11), trouncing Bible Hill's best by five lengths.
The four-year-old Mach Three gelding got away fifth of six in the $2,000 featured pace before trainer-driver Bernard McCallum angled him off the pegs in pursuit of early pacesetter Ashestodiamonds (Darren Crowe) nearing a :27.4 first quarter. Wind Blown maintained a spritely pace after clearing, reeling through middle sectionals of :56.4 and 1:25.4 before steadily widening his lead through the final turn. At the end of his 1:53.2 mile — which was just one-fifth of a second shy of his lifetime mark — Wind Blown had amassed five lengths of clearance over Ashestodiamonds, who narrowly held second over American Risk (Todd Trites).
Wind Blown has won seven times and banked over $113,000 to date for Douglas R. and Douglas E. Polley, and Gordon and Joanne McComb.
