Jeremy Pierce On Past, Future
Last week, Harness Racing PEI announced that its general manager, Jeremy Pierce, was taking on a new position outside of the organization. Now, Pierce has explained why he is moving on and where he is moving to
.
An article by The Guardian states that Pierce, 33, is leaving the organization for a position with the city of Charlottetown as superintendent of facilities for the Cody Banks and Simmons arenas.
His last day at HRPEI will be Friday, February 12. He will start his new job with the city Monday, February 22.
The report cites Pierce as saying that he wanted a job with more predictable hours so he could spend more time with his wife and 11-month-old twin boys.
Although Pierce is leaving HRPEI, he has many positives things to say about the industry. “It’s obviously an industry with lots of challenges but it’s also an industry with lots of opportunities," he was quoted as saying. "I think the industry is going forward in certain respects when it comes to getting new customers and getting old ones back.”
