Snow Won't Slow 'Fast Forward'
While it's commonly believed in harness racing that some horses perform better over certain track conditions, the same could likely be said for drivers - especially
after Brad Forward's five-win night at a snowy Windsor Raceway.
A finalist for Canada's driver of the year in 2009, Forward rattled off three straight wins in Races 3 through 5 with Norman Glinz's Royal Sir (Royal Art - Ginger Beachy) for trainer Keith Cullen, Bayamastar (Goliath Bayama - W C Chandelier) for owner Darryl Newbigging and conditioner Gordon McDonnell and the photogenic Headpoles R Us (Bo Knows Jate - Ashboro) for owner Ron and trainer Chris Haskell.
Forward's final two wins on the card came in Races 10 and 12, first with Classic Farms' Classic Sakuri (Astreos - Spider Cam) for trainer Stan Malec and finally aboard Fooled Ya (Twin B Champ - Jazz Ballet) for Terri Boucher and trainer-owner Jim Boucher.
The night's productive total sets Brad Forward at 25 wins on the year in just 97 starts, with a UDRS of 0.347.
