Hanover Announces Fan Reopening Plan
Hanover Raceway will be permitted under Stage Two of the province's reopening plan to have 317 fans able to attend our races beginning on Saturday (July 3).
The only registration method will be an online registration system, which will open on Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. for that week's race card at register.hanoverraceway.com. Registrations will be available until 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning or until the limit of 317 is reached.
No bookings will be taken by phone or email. This system will ensure ease of contact tracing for all guests, as part of the province's conditions for reopening. Guests will also be asked to engage in passive Covid-19 online screening form and are welcomed to the track if they:
- Have no symptoms (fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, or shortness of breath)
- Have not travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days
- Have not been in close contact with a confirmed or probable case of Covid-19
We ask that all guests wear a face covering when arriving at our parking lot to check in, as well as when interacting with our staff on-site. We also ask that you wear a face covering when you are within six feet of someone that is not from your household. Otherwise, guests are not required to wear a face covering if they adhere to those conditions in an outdoor setting.
A maximum of six guests are allowed at a table together on the tarmac.
Hanover Raceway will have an outside food booth available for food and beverage needs, as well as two betting windows with tellers and a self-serve machine, which will be on the tarmac for convenience.
Washrooms will be available and are located in the bottom of the grandstand. Checked-in fans will not be eligible to go to the backstretch, regardless of their AGCO eligibility.
"We're very pleased to welcome a reasonable number of fans back to Hanover Raceway to watch the races live. It will be an exciting day starting on Saturday, July 3. Please adhere to the necessary rules that will keep everyone safe and we look forward to seeing you again," said Hanover Raceway General Manager Steve Fitzsimmons.
