Adore Him Too Good At Clinton
Robert Blake's Adore Him ($4.50) certainly looked the part of a 5-4 favourite in Sunday's (June 20) feature at Clinton Raceway, clearing from the outside post 7 and never looking back en route to a 1:57.3 score.
Travis Henry had the nine-year-old son of Shadow Play in attack mode from the outset of the $5,800 Preferred 3 Pace, and they were able to clear for the lead midway on the first turn when Streakazana (J Harris) — who emerged from post 4 for early control — broke stride. Adore Him faced no pressure at all through splits of :29, :58.3 and 1:28.2, and made easy work of a mild head-stretch challenge from pocket rival Larjon Lucky (Tyler Moore) to win by 2-1/4 widening lengths. Larjon Lucky preserved second; Notetoself Hanover (Natasha Day) finished third, another length behind.
The win was Adore Him's second in a row, after a two-move score over conditioned company at Hiawatha last week. Curt Blake trains the 36-time winner with career earnings of over $200,000.
