Jeremy Pierce On The Move
Harness Racing PEI has announced that its general manager, Jeremy Pierce, is taking on a new position outside
of the organization.
He has accepted a new position with the City of Charlottetown.
Pierce, who guided the HRPEI management team since June, 2005, recently made the announcement to the board of directors. He was responsible for ushering in a new era for harness racing and worked on industry initiatives on a local, regional and national level.
The racing executive enjoyed many highlights during his term, which include hosting two Regional Driving Championships, National Driving Championship, Summerside Raceway expansion, new racing series for Island racetracks, and helped spearhead celebrations surrounding the 50th edition of the Gold Cup & Saucer.
"I would like to wish Jeremy all the best in his new position with the City of Charlottetown," said the honourable Wes Sheridan, the minister responsible for harness racing on Prince Edward Island.
"I also want to thank him for his dedication and commitment to the harness racing industry on PEI. His keen understanding of the industry led to continued improvement and growth during his time with HRPEI."
Pierce moves into his position on February 22, 2010.
