Jamieson Adds Tuesdays At London
Now back from holidays after his record-setting 2009 campaign that netted him the O'Brien Award as Canada's Driver of the year, Jody Jamieson will be making the trek to Western Fair Raceway for their Tuesday cards
of harness racing starting this week.
"I'm sitting at home watching Western Fair," Jamieson told Trot Insider, "they have a good product and it's an open day for me right now. I figure I might as well make the most of my time."
Jamieson, a former top driver at Western Fair before concentrating on the Woodbine-Mohawk circuit around 2002, had nothing but praise for the London half-miler.
"My good friend Peter Kyte's there, he's a great announcer and I think he'll be a top voice for years to come," continued Jamieson, who returned to active duty on Sunday. "Pete and [Racing and Gaming Manager] Ian Fleming are doing great things there, it's a class operation."
Coming off a 2009 campaign with 3,322 drives and 796 wins, what's in store for Jamieson this year? Not a quest to topple his multiple award-winning season
"I'm going to keep going as hard as I can," said Jamieson. "I'm not going to try to set any records, just try to be number one."
Jamieson starts his Tuesdays at Western Fair this coming Tuesday, February 9.
