ORC Rules On Arts Diva Appeal

The Ontario Racing Commission today released three rulings in regard to appeals. The rulings had to do with the placing of Arts Diva in the 2009 Forest City

Pace; the appeal of a driving suspension and placing by Darcy Clancy; and the placing of Kilmartin Brother in a November, 2009 dash at Western Fair Raceway.

In regard to the placing of Arts Diva -- who was placed from fourth to sixth in the $189,000 event -- the ORC ruled that the placement of the mare was upheld.

In regard to Clancy's appeal of his three-day driving suspension and the placing of his mount, A Stud Named Steph, the ORC ruled that Clancy will have to serve his suspension and that the placing of the gelding will stand.

In regard to the appeal of Betty Ann Mackinnon -- in relation to the placing from first to sixth of her horse Kilmartin Brother on November 14, 2009 at Western Fair Raceway -- the ORC ruled to uphold the judges' decision to place the horse.
