Ferrari First Again In GLADA

Larry Ferrari continued his winning ways in the Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association (GLADA) Series at Northfield Park.

On Saturday (May 29) he scored a 1:58.1 win with his five-year-old Wishing Stone gelding So Wishful, which was Ferrari's fifth win in his last seven starts. And that victory overcame a sluggish start where So Wishful got away seventh from post 2.

Sent at odds of over 5-1, Ferrari decided to follow Meetmeinthehallway, the second choice in the wagering who was first-up on the limb as they chased Mego Moss by the :27.3 first quarter.

Oldford's trotter remained tough on the lead as they passed the halfway point in :57.4. Meanwhile Ferrari and So Wishful trotted around their cover and took command as the three- quarter timer flashed 1:28.3. And when the field straightened for home, So Wishful was the strong horse and began to open lengths on his competition. In the deep stretch Mego Moss began to fade and Lonnie Graber with Better Call Saul inherited second place, but they couldn't catch So Wishful on his way to a four-length score in 1:58.1. Third place went to Time Outa Jail, driven by “Chicago George” Bonomo.

So Wishful, a five-year-old Wishing Stone gelding, is owned by Kiesha Ferrari and trained by Larry Ferrari. He paid $12.40 for win.
