Elisabeth Jansen Passes

Trot Insider has learned that long-time horsewoman Elisabeth Jansen has passed away.

Jansen passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 70. A pioneer for female driving, training and farriers, she surpassed the million-dollar mark with a small stable and was one of the kindest people to everyone. She had been operating a broodmare farm, “Triple Pond Farm” in Alfred-Plantagenet, with five broodmares, yearlings, retirees, and her most beloved horse: her stud named Uno Jantera.

She was an avid participant in the Mildred Williams female driving championships and Racing for the Cure events.

She is survived by her by husband and farm co-owner Yves Tessier. Her children Joan Seaman, Kim O’Reilly (Frank O’Reilly) and Glenn Seaman. Her grandchildren Brett, Ashley and Vanessa MacDonald, Tyson and Emerson Peterkin. Katlyn and Victoria Fox, Alexia Richard, Brian and Cody Seaman.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the family and friends of Elisabeth Jansen.

Good and Kind in all it's declination. Horsewoman in all its trade. Regards to the family.

My condolences to Yves and the Seaman family for the lost of one of the hardest working females I had the honour of knowing when she was married to the late Bobby Seaman, she looked after her children and horses like a person who would look after a treasure chest, just a wonderful and kind person. R.I.P. Elizabeth.

Yves so sorry to hear of Elisabeths passing. She was a wonderful and kind person. R.I.P. Elisabeth.
