Brainard Three-For-Three At Woodbine
After wrapping up her first trainer’s title at WEG in 2009, Tracy Brainard has continued to lead into the new year and on Monday night she sent out three more winners during Woodbine Racetrack’s 11-race program
.
Zander Massimo, a four-year-old Four Starzzz Shark gelding owned by Brainard and Andrew Herzog of Monticello, New York, is now two-for-two in his career after winning Monday’s second race in 1:53.4 with Jody Jamieson in the bike. Making his first start for Brainard and Fred Monteleone Stable of Pompano Beach, Florida, Mr Terry Fra, a four-year-old Artsplace gelding, won the fourth race in 1:52.2 in line to Mark MacDonald. MacDonald also guided Scorpion Moon, a nine-year-old gelded son of Armbro Scorpion, to a 1:54.2 victory in the sixth race for Brainard and Herzog.
Brainard’s training triple pushed her win total to 16 at WEG and 19 on the year. She is currently ranked the nation’s top money-earning trainer of 2010 with $316,895 banked in purses.
