SC To Facilitate Free Strangles Webinar
Strangles can be an emotionally and financially challenging disease for participants in the horse racing industry. With knowledge, transparency and appropriate action, the industry can work together to protect our horses, limit the spread of this common infectious disease and sustain our livelihood.
Standardbred Canada will be facilitating an online webinar on lessons learned from a Strangles outbreak, featuring Industry Experts, on Wednesday, May 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The webinar is FREE.
The panel will be hosted by Lee Drake, SC Director and Manager of Racing, Brand and Broadcast at Red Shores, PEI and includes the following Industry Experts:

The panel will discuss identifying the signs of Strangles, understanding the difference between a horse with Strangles and a horse that tests positive for Streptococcus equi, how different sampling techniques and diagnostic tests affect results and how they are interpreted, and how to implement effective biosecurity in your barn or at your facility.
A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
