Georgian Gaming Referendum Possible

According to a report, a referendum may be taking place in Georgia during the November general election to see whether gambling is to be expanded in the state

.

An article by The Augusta Chronicle states that House Resolution 1177, introduced by representative Harry Geisinger, would require the votes of two-thirds of both the house and senate, but not the signature of governor Sonny Perdue, who has reportedly stated his opposition.

“By following the examples of Florida and Louisiana, we can expand Georgia’s equine industry and create thousands of equine jobs throughout our great state,” Geisinger was quoted as saying in the article.
