Imalookertoo Heads Truro Opener
While his oft-heralded stablemate Woodmere Stealdeal isn't slated to return to action for a few weeks yet, Imalookertoo ($8.50) was sure to do his part to keep owner Bob Sumarah and trainer Danny Romo in the headlines with a 1:57 win on Sunday's (April 25) Opening Day program at Truro Raceway.
Imalookertoo, whom Romo also drove in the $2,000 winners-over pacing feature, had no part of the early pace, dropping back to sixth in the field of seven while Well Did and Paul Langille carved out early splits of :28.1 and :58.3. On the backstretch, the four-year-old Shadow Play launched a three-wide bid to chase down the cover of Dont Ask Logan (Redmond Doucet), who forced a :29 third sectional from Well Did before forging to the lead on the final turn. Despite Dont Ask Logan's hard work, Imalookertoo had the freshest legs turning for home, as he sustained his three-wide push and vaulted clear by 2-1/4 lengths. Dont Ask Logan held second, two lengths better than American Risk (Ryder Matthews Rennison), who toiled from the pocket but was able to save third over the tiring pacesetter.
After posing no threat in one start at Northfield and three at Flamboro thus far in 2021, Imalookertoo landed in the winner's enclosure in his return to the Romo stable, notching the 10th win of his career in 26 total starts to date.
Racing returns to Truro next Sunday (May 2), with first time at 12:45 p.m. Atlantic time. The 34-day stand continues through Dec. 12.

Imalookertoo is a very nice
Imalookertoo is a very nice colt but not to be overlooked though is WIND BLOWN. He is a Mach Three four-year old pacer who raced flawlessly free-legged in an earlier race on Truro's opening card. Winning by 12 lengths, his time of 1:56.3 was fastest for the day. WIND BLOWN finished second two years ago in the Battle of Waterloo at Grand River. This was his first start without hopples and no check. A free-legged pacer is very exciting to watch. Bernard Mccallum trains WIND BLOWN for the Polley's of Amherst and the McCoombs of Fall River.
